GCSE 1.6: NHS hit by malware

GCSE students, do you know how to prevent ransomware?

The attack affecting the NHS on Friday 12th May 2017 happened because of operating system exploits. The latest updates had not been installed.

For exams you should know that malware can be prevented by:

– Strong, up-to-date security software (firewall, spam filter, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam)
– Installing operating system updates
– Staff training: caution with opening attachments
– Backing up files regularly
